The Golden Gate National Park Service asked us to create a visual display during construction of the West Wall. The visual wall was designed to inform the audience of the dining hall history with facts such as the amount of types of food eaten and stories of revolts. We’ve utilized the Alcatraz archival images to show inmates working in the kitchen.
The retail experience on Alcatraz is enhanced by an added educational component. Black and white photos of famous convicts, cell house rules, and the distinctive prison typographic signage adds visual character for the one million plus visitors to the island.
