After 75 years of use, the logo for this privately owned processed meat company was badly in need of a makeover, transforming it into a sophisticated brand with shelf-appeal in upscale markets and delis. Our redesign emphasized the authentic Italian flavor of Columbus salame by evoking Old World quality through an engraving-style portrait of Christopher Columbus, antique maps of Italy, Renaissance paintings, and Bodoni typeface.
Renaissance paintings were used for specialty holiday packaging for Williams-Sonoma.
Columbus created a premium line called "Renaissance" for gourmet markets, featuring 15th century Italian paintings. A special deli wrapper was made for Columbus's Artisan Salame.
